What is
America's Pet Registry? |
 |
America's Pet
Registry, Inc. is an internationally recognized association of
responsible pet owners, breeders, distributors, veterinarians,
retailers, pet product manufacturers, and other concerned

of pet ownership. As such, all share a deep commitment to our
animal wards.

 |
Why should I
register my dog? |
 |
When you
register your dog you ensure:
- Proof of ownership
- Documentation of purebred status
- Documentation of your dog's name and lineage
- Protection against restrictive legislative ordinances
- Protection against legal and/or custody issues
|
 |
I've lost my
pet's papers; how do I get a replacement? |
 |
Please call our
office to request replacement certificates.
Certificates are available to current owners of record. If you
have not register your pet in your name yet, you will need to
contact the breeder, pet shop, or person you purchased your
dog from and have them order a replacement. |
 |
Can I register
my other dogs with APRI? |
 |
APRI does
accept dogs from other legitimate registries for 'dual
registration.'
We may request a pedigree on dual registrations if the dog's
parents aren't currently in our database.
There is no charge for dual registering a dog that is already
registered in your name with the other registries; however, a
fee may apply if the dog needs to be transferred to your name. |
 |
How do I
register my puppies? |
 |
If your dog has
puppies you will need to fill out a litter application to get
registration applications for your puppies.
This can be done online if you own the male and female and
both are APRI registered. Otherwise, you can download the
litter application or call
us and we'll mail you a registration form for each puppy in
the litter to give to the new puppy owners. |
 |
Does APRI
conduct kennel inspections? |
 |
APRI is
introducing the Kennel Assist Program and conducts kennel
assist visits at the request of the breeder for the purpose of
improving kennel facilities and breed quality. |
 |
Does APRI
require DNA testing? |
 |
At this time
DNA testing cannot determine purebred status. DNA, however,
can determine parentage.
If there is a dispute of parentage, APRI may request the
breeder to perform DNA testing. |
 |
Does APRI have
dog shows? |
 |
Yes.
Check out our website for the current show calendar. In APRI
dog shows,
dogs are judged against their breed standard and earn points
towards their championship.
We try to keep our shows enjoyable and welcome children to our
show ring. |
 |
Trouble
submitting an APRI litter? |
 |
Make sure you
have a breeder ID # and both the sir and dam are APRI and/or
PRA registered in your name.
Make sure the sir and dam are the same breed and that you are
using the same breed code. For example: L06-ZA-AC-31160T and
L06-AZ-AH-31180T.
Hybrid litters must be submitted at the hybrid website:
http://achclub.com |
 |
Trouble
submitting a photograph? |
 |
If you select
the photo option you will be given instructions to upload your
photo at the end of the registration process.
Extremely large photo files may halt the upload process.
Very small photos may appear blurry on the certificates.
Try to chose a photo that is at least 5" by 7" but
no larger than 9" by 12" with a resolution of
100-200 dpi. This will also make the uploading process
quicker. |
 |
Don't see an
option online that's listed on your application? |
 |
Not all
registration packages are list online, if you want to order an
option not listed online, just put a notation in the comment
section
and we'll adjust the order and/or charges to fulfill your
request. |
 |
Are my credit
card numbers safe? |
 |
Yes.
Our website is secure. |
 |
Why are the
charges different online than what is listed on my application? |
 |
Due to the
economy we have lowered our late fees to make registering your
dog more affordable.
We appreciate your business in these difficult times. |
 |
Common
reasons your registration application may be rejected: |
 |
- 1. Your internet browser may not be compatible with our
website.
- The registration number sequences has to look like the
example given online; anything different will have to be
mailed or faxed.
- We do not accept Pet Records of America applications
online; those will have to be mailed or faxed.
- All fields on the online application must be completed
or it will not submit.
|
Despite our best
intentions and modern technology designed to make our lives
easier, sometimes the applications you submit online don't make
it to our servers.
If you don't receive a confirmation email from us saying we
received your request within 48 hours AND you have verified the
email address you submitted is correct, please call our office
to check the status of your registration. Usually you will
receive your litter papers from us within just a few days. Dog
registrations may take a little longer especially if the photo
option is chosen. In any case, if you don't receive your
paperwork within two weeks, please call us. |
